When treating diabetes 1 1/2, and diet alone turns out to be insufficient would you ever use sulfonylureas or just low dose insulin injections like Lantus?
Christopher Tuohino
01:22:24
1) How do you consider the role of exercise in combating Diabetes? Do you encourage it along with nutrition?
Shaniah Pereida
01:22:24

My question is: how do you navigate the conversations with patients. My father is 76 and is one of those “old fashioned, farm-fed boys” that wants to eat what he likes. Sure enough, he was just diagnosed with type 2. I would love to know how to change his mind.
Tin Cao DMD 2026

When you say that carbohydrates improve the activity of insulin, does that mean, individuals are producing more insulin or more sensitive to the same amount of insulin?
Christopher Tuohino
01:33:52
2) How do you consider the role of genetics in the development of diabetes? Do you modify your recommendations to people based on their ethnic or racial background?

Based on the diet on your website, it has many restrictions regarding dairy products, fat, and meat---how were you able to isolate that the problem was sugar v. fat with this diet rather than confounding factors such as cutting out dairy/meat? What would happen if someone cut out the fat, increased their carbs, but did not cut out dairy and mear?
Alexander (Alex) Olden, DONW 2026
01:37:13
also can we get a copy of the powerpoint?

Hello sir, how are you defining carbohydrates and starch and sugar? I feel like the definitions are getting more refined throughout the years, especially in the research. How would you connect the research you presented with the current literature?

Rachel Oshay, MS, DO 2026
01:54:53
So if protein is unnecessary, do you suggest against consuming vegan protein sources too (such as tofu)?
Mo'men Bany-Mohammed, DO 2026
01:56:57
If high protein diets are toxic to our bodies, is there a healthy way to approach weight lifting?
Beth Mucci
01:57:54
Just have to say that Dr. McDougall is not saying protein is unnecessary; he is saying protein is in almost all foods, so if you eat enough whole, vegan foods, you will have enough protein.
Bonnie Haight
01:57:55
